LAUREN L. TOBIASON

Lauren L. Tobiason is an associate attorney in Kohner, Mann, & Kailas, S.C.’s Business & Financial Services Group, which represents lenders and commercial creditors in a wide array of matters, including commercial real estate foreclosure, loan workouts, debt recovery and enforcement, proceedings under the Bankruptcy Code and Wisconsin Chapter 128, defense of preferential transfer claims, and equipment recovery and repossession matters.

Prior to joining KMK, Ms. Tobiason acquired extensive bankruptcy experience, including by clerking for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the North District of Illinois, serving as an attorney for a Chapter 13 Trustee in the same Court and representing the U.S. Government as a trial attorney for the Department of Justice U.S. Trustee Program. Ms. Tobiason has also worked in private practice and most recently as a client manager serving state and local governments for LexisNexis. With substantial experience working for both the courts and business clients, Ms. Tobiason has gained significant insight into how to utilize the court system effectively, and she incorporates her deep knowledge of likely judicial outcomes into creating effective strategies to help her clients efficiently accomplish their goals.

Ms. Tobiason obtained her Juris Doctorate from the University of Illinois-Chicago John Marshall Law School, and her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. During law school, Ms. Tobiason was a member of the John Marshall Law Review, the Moot Court Executive Board and Trial Advocacy Honors Counsel, and a director of UIC’s Corporate Law Association.
