Kohner, Mann & Kailas, S.C. offers an experienced and sophisticated team able to adapt its services to the particular business issues of our clients.

KMK provides the legal and transactional skills necessary to support our clients’ business needs and objectives. We have the resources and expertise necessary to serve the complex needs of our Fortune 500 clients, yet our knowledge of business realities also ensures competitive support for our small private clients as well. Our attorneys have a reputation of achieving results in local, national and transnational business disputes and transactions.
We realize that routine business operations are as important to the health of our clients’ business as are more high-exposure types of litigation or transactions. That’s why we concentrate on the core areas of business law, partnering when necessary with selected external experts in specialized niches, such as tax and patent matters, to provide a service that remains flexible, sophisticated and yet cost-effective for our clients.
Our rich history of client representation includes services that range from high-profile appellate representation and international business issues to critical everyday needs such as recovery of debt.

OUR HISTORY

Since 1937, Kohner, Mann & Kailas, S.C., has represented business interests and litigants. From our base in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, KMK has evolved into a sophisticated business law firm. We are recognized by our peers for our experience and expertise across the broad spectrum of legal issues associated with business. This excellence provides the foundation for our membership in the exclusive, global network of law firms known as the International Society of Primerus Law Firms.

Many of our clients utilize our services to manage representation and transactions throughout the United States and beyond. KMK offers transnational services both to U.S. businesses contemplating or involved in transactions outside of the United States and to companies in other countries operating or looking to establish operations in this country.

We have consistently adapted our range of expertise to ensure that, while we continue to offer our clients small-firm flexibility and cost structures, we also provide expertise and support across the broad commercial and legal spectrum for all sizes of clients and complexity of tasks. Our attorneys have expertise in areas such as the interface of technology and litigation, and the practical issues of conducting business in the very different social and legal cultures around the world. KMK is committed to staying at the forefront of current trends in the commercial landscape.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

The depth and breadth of the expertise of our business attorneys enable us to function either as an additional dimension to the expertise and experience of general and in-house counsel or as a full-service outsourced legal department.

KMK offers a flexible structure to provide our clients with the most effective ethical and professional legal support at a fair and reasonable cost. We appreciate that legal services must satisfy our clients if the relationship is to prosper and so we are committed to providing our clients with the greatest return for their investment. This requires the development of a detailed understanding of our clients’ businesses and markets in order to ensure that we optimize the service we provide.

We keep abreast of changes in business practices and procedures and use current technology to improve and manage the cost-effectiveness of our service. KMK has the technological expertise to implement an array of electronic services for clients. In keeping with our mission to maximize cost/benefit for each client, we understand that services critical to one client may represent an unnecessary expense for another.

KMK attorneys are committed to maintaining the highest standard of professional and general ethical behavior at all times. We believe that this, combined with our insistence on understanding our clients’ businesses, has been the reason why we have had the privilege of representing a great many of our clients continuously for 25 years and more.
