As part of his duties as President of the State Bar of Wisconsin, Kohner, Mann & Kailas, attorney Ryan M. Billings addressed recent graduates of UW-Madison and Marquette Law Schools. At swearing-in ceremonies conducted on May 19 and 29, 2025, Billings encouraged newly admitted attorneys to “be their own kind of lawyer,” in other words to find a way to practice law that reflects their strengths, abilities, and core beliefs. The ceremonies were officiated by Chief Justice of the Wisconsin Supreme Court Ann Walsh Bradley, and Justice Brian Hagedorn also addressed the newly admitted attorneys, while Justices Jill Karofsky, Rebecca Dallet, and Janet Protasiewicz took turns administering the attorney oath.
